RB: So were Warner Brothers cartoons your favorites? JS: Yeah-yeah! Those were my favorite cartoons. They still are.

RB: Did you always want to be a cartoonist?

JS: Well no, I always wanted to be a musician. When I got outta high school I didn't have much interest left in cartoons. I'd totally lost interest in comic books.

RB: Yeah, when you get into high school you might think cartoons are for kids.

JS: To me, music became real exciting. I started to play in bands. It was a better way to meet girls. Better to be in a band than bein' a cartoonist. That was a big reason.
